i am getting new boots and i dont know which ones to get. I don't want to spend too mcuh money because i only ride in the summer. I am considering saxon either lace up or zip up paddock boots or would i be better off getting something thats made with real leather? also what are the purpose of half chaps?

Can I say "that's so gay" about the commercial because it was about gayness?

Is it ok to say "that's so gay" about a pride "riding on a seatless unicycle in assless chaps" parade?

Ok, so I am debating on what to wear in the riding classes (Trail, Western pleasure, horsemanship, command) at a big show I am going to on June 19th. I was thinking of wearing this:

- Blue Slinkie (With designs on it... it's a rail shirt)
-Black jeans and chaps
-Black cowboy hat
-Black boots

I was also going to use a black saddle pad. Do you think it would be too much black? I am riding a sorrel paint if that helps.

If you think it is too much black, what colour should I use for my saddle pad?? Thanks

Ok, so I have to dress up for this thing tomorrow night, but its with horses so it can't spook them. I was GOING to go as the cat in the hat. As the hat might scare the horses, I can't do that (not my decision by the way).

I have to use what is available to me:
Normal, everyday clothing.
Black Western chaps, hat and belt
EXTREMELY sparkly shirt (light blue)
white tail thing
black boa
a bunch of blue felt
Paddock boots, riding pants and riding shirts

That's about it. We are not allowed to wear capes or anything either.

I did ask this before, but no one suggested anything. They just said 'get the horses used to the hat' well, the people there will not accept that, so any ideas?

Ok...i have been riding for 5 years and i know you have to use a boot with a 1 inch heal and all of that stuff. but....during the winter im not going to be riding that much and was wondering if i can wear regular sneakers with half chaps. i have never owned half chaps so i dont know if it would work. i also know you have to put the strap under your heel and that helps them stay on. can anyone please help i cant find anything on google.
i do have saftey stirrups

Well, I was thinking I'd like to start going to some very small local shows this summer (I'll be leasing my first horse). Well, I've been riding for 5 years but have never been to a show (aside from barn schooling shows). Anyway, I'm new to the whole thing so I have some questions.

1. For small local shows what is the proper attire in classes such as Hunter/Jumper, Equitation, etc.
-Would I need tall boots (right now I only have paddock boots and suede half chaps)?
-What about a show coat/shirt?
- breeches?

2. When did you get your first pair of tall boots and why?

When you are done riding and have to get something has anything funny ever happened to you?

I was comeing back from riding and i went to timmies. So i got out of the car and a big biker guy comes up to me and all im thinking oh wow hes scary lol. He asks me where i got my leather chaps. (half chaps) I told him a horse store and hes like yeah me and my buddies want some of those we hate wearing the long ones. So im thinking this is a bit awkward. Then his like can i feel them? Even more awkward so im like sure. Then his mumbling and hes like nice leather.
It happened to me a couple of times and its soo awkward anything like that happen to you?

bikers are cool but he sorta scared me i wasnt expecting him lol my uncle bikes but stopped riding alot because he was in a accident a couple of years ago

I use standard paddock boots and half chaps. Normally my ankles are fine, but if I ride for more than three hours my ankles feel weak and they hurt on the outside and inside for days afterward. I don't have my own tack and it's not my own horse, and I don't have the money right now to buy my own gear. Is it the tack, the boots, or do I just need some kind of ankle brace?
